Ume Hayashi - Ref Sheet -

I redid her design because I can and because I'm entering a contest on crunchyroll (Add me if you want I guess, not really gonna go on there but might idk: [link] ) for designing a Puella Magi ; u ;

Name: Ume Hayashi

Age: 15 years old

Height: 5'5"

Weight: 130 lbs

Weapon: Her main weapon is the little decorations on her head that can turn into extendable hands when needed. The small arms can also fall off and become a gauntlet type weapon but that means the bigger hands have less strength. They are used for offense and defense.

Her sub-weapons are things she can make or find as weapons, for example: Bombs, a boomerang with sides that slice through things, gears, knives, baseball bats, mines, spearheads,trash can lids, and throwing spikes.

Wish: "I wish I could fix anything I want with my own hands."

Personality: In the most part she's always as positive as she can be so it rubs off on other people and helps out when needed. In serious moments she can be very cold hearted.

Likes: Soft things, plushies, helping people, sewing, tinkering, video games, drawing(amateur), cherry blossoms, and volleyball.

Dislikes: being bored/having nothing to do, certain bugs but not all, being useless, and selfish/attention seeking people.

Back Story:
Ume was the oldest child in her family of four. Her father had died prior to the birth of her baby brother when she was 5. Her mother was weak at the time from her weak body, stress, and the loss of her husband, that she was ill after giving birth and she passed away. Ume and her brother were left to stay at their grandma's.
When her brother was 5 he had ran away at night because he was told what happened to his parents and thought that running away would do something. The following morning cops were their grandma's door saying that Ume's brother was hit by a semi truck while crossing the highway and died on impact. Ume was devastated more then her grandma was because she was losing so much in her life and she was only 10 by that time.
Ume's grandma had died 4 years later from old age. Ume had no relatives left but her grandma's friend offered that Ume could stay with her at her big apartment. Ume went through a small phase of depression while at her new home but then she truly thought about what has happened and came up with that she hates fate and wishes she could change it in some way- the way she would want it to happen. If she could then she wouldn't have to worry about death.
Kyubey appeared before Ume one rainy night in front of her apartment asking if she would like to make a contract with him to change her fate. She made a contract with Kyubey to become a magical girl and has been positive since then because she now could change fate if even just a little bit. On a side note she made an agreement with her grandma's friend then moved out moved to a different one in the building so she could do her own thing. Because her grandma's friend is old and rich and doesn't know what to do with her money, half of Ume's apartment rent is paid for by her.

TL;DR
Ume's parents died, ume and her brother went to live with grandma, broher died, grandma died, ume went to stay with grandma's friend, kyubey showed up and made a contract with her, ume is now the most positive thing ever.

The tinkering witch with a hopeless nature. She takes the form of a shadow as she depicts her previous hopeless self. She continuously makes minions for something to do as no one visits her barrier very often.

Type: Tinkering Witch's Minion

Duty: Looking for light

The witch's minion whose duty is to look for light. They look for light as the witch's barrier is in darkness from smoke and dirt covering the area. They also carry the witch if light is found as she has no legs and if she does move it is at a slow pace.
